I have a few windows that are 68x49.5 (old jalousie windows) and I don't want to buy custom replacement windows. I would like to use a standard window that comes close to that size. What is the best and easiest way to fill the space if there is like 8.5 inches space on the height and a couple inches on the width?

I also have a window that is the size of a garage door and am not looking forward to replacing that. I would like to put in a bay window but not that size -something that is roughly 1/3 the opening size. Do I build a partial wall and put that in place with a new window rough opening, or should I build it up one peice at a time, right in the opening where the old window was? Which would be easier?

Any advice would be appreciated!
:)
