While taking advantage of this beautiful Spring weather, I decided to squirt down my front porch, windows, porch furniture. My front porch floor is concrete and covered with green outdoor carpeting. It has been this way since I purchased the house five years ago.
In the middle of my hosing down the porch, it crossed my mind to check to see if anything was leaking into the basement. During very long, heavy rains, my basement has been known to develop a little trickle.
To my horror, when I went down to the basement and stuck my head into the small room below the porch, I found it to be RAINING!!
What steps should I take to control this water? I plan to rip up the green carpeting. Would Drylock be a good choice for the exterior porch floor?

Welcome to the forum
I have never used dryloc on a horizontal surface so I don't know if it would be OK or not. I would remove the carpet and check for any cracks that the water may be entering through. Occasionally carpet is laid to hide defects.
