I have a blue candle stain about the size of a softball on creme berber carpet. I already tried placing newspaper and ironing up the wax. It is now rock hard and possibly stained from blue dye? Any hope for a fix?

Thanks.

Scrape whatever you can off of it. Dampen the area with water, take a damp wet cloth double it up and set over area. Then take your iron and iron. Making sure the rag stays wet and you dont leave over the area longer that 20 seconds at a time. Each time replacing the rag and making sure the area is still wet. Depending on the size it make take some time to remove all the wax. Once all of the removable wax is removed. Take a dry cleaning solvent and spot the remaining area blotting, never rubbing. The blue should come out. Since the blue is mainly in the wax. So, if you get most of the wax out the blue should come out.

The warm iron method is frequently recommended by forum posters. However, heat can set dyes from candles. It is best to scrape off all excess wax and vacuum. Then, blot with rubbing alcohol, denatured alcohol, or dry cleaning fluid. Use white rag and blot from outside toward middle to remove candle wax.
