Cleaning and Stain Removal - Black Crayon On Brown Microsuede!

[COLOR=Red] Hi all - Any and all help with this would be greatly appreciated so thanks in advance! Anyhow, my 2 year old has decided to decorate one of my microsuede ottomans with a wonderful black crayon scroll along on the top cushion. Can someone give me a suggestion as to how to get it out?? A dry cleaning solvent should do the trick in removing the crayon. But you may want to look up what the manufactor suggests for the material. Im thinking the ottoman is made of leather? If so leather is a whole new ball game so to speak. A fabric ottoman should respond well to a dry clean solvent. Basicly a dry cleanign solvent is a can form spray that will clean the fabric surface but will not completely dampen it. Test any agents before using on a hidden area ie: side skirt or scrap piece.

Rubbing alcohol is one of the mildest household solvents that is usually available in most homes. Take a white rag and dampen with rubbing alcohol. Test in inconspicuous place first by blotting to see if it affects dye. Not all microfiber upholstery is created equal and some folks have posted in the forums about microfiber dye rubbing off on clothing. If there are no ill effects, proceed to blot from outside middle of stain toward middle to prevent spreading. Continue to blot, changing areas on white rag as needed, until crayon is removed.
