Plastic tends to be porous and absorbent of stains. A baking soda and water paste is the mildest abrasive cleaner. If left to set, it can lift some stains. Rub with sponge or cleaning rag to remove scum. A paste of non-abrasive powdered cleaner like Zud or Barkeeper's Friend left to set tends to remove many stains, including rust. Once sink is clean, keep coated with auto wax to seal and provide sheeting action. Wipe dry after each use to prevent mineral buildup.
