The motor for my table saw is worn out. Does anyone know where I can find new or used motors for a table saw? I need a motor that has a mounting plate that mounts with four bolts. The correct motor is 3/4 hp and 3450 rpm. Thanks.

sidnau,
Yes, your search should begin with your local telephone directory Yellow Pages under the heading " Electric Motors".

Greg,
Thanks for your response. Just before I found your reply, I looked in the Yellow Pages. I was surprised to find about ten shops in our area that advertised electric motor re-building. Do you have experience getting power tool motors re-built? Do you know the market price of a re-build?
I have inherited an old Craftsman table saw and on another bulletin board I saw postings from several people who are re-building similar table saws. They were looking for owner's manuals.

Sid,
I have good luck with motor rebuilds as long as I go to a reputable shop.
Motor rewind prices vary but I would be sure to get estimates first because a 3/4 hp motor is not that expensive.
A 3/4 hp motor is fairly small for a table saw and if your current motor is bad it would be a good time to consider upping the size.
If you have the Craftsman model number we may be able to get some info on it.
