i have a red leather bag that has leather "buttons" on each side that have turned black from rubbing against whatevers. i have tried all the tried and true methods with no luck. can anybody help me? :o

What you are observing on red leather buttons is due to wearing off of the red coating on the leather. This is not a cleaning issue, but rather the issue of worn leather. A leather expert may be able to replace or recoat the buttons.
