I just installed a steel security door...the type which mounts to the outer existing wood frame. I noticed a rather large gap at the bottom. Any ideas on this one?

If it is a pre hung unit it should have a threshold with adjustment screws to raise the threshold to meet the bottom of the door.

it didn't come with a threshold. i should also point out that this is not a solid steel door, but more of a screen door. i'm thinking i might have to rig something. anyone have any experience with this?

Hi, You installed a security door that mounts on the door casing or brick mold. The door extends beyond the threshhold of the original door and you have about a 2" gap at the bottom of the door. I have made a form to fit beyond the styles that hold the door up and high as the gap. place the form against the styles hold it in place with a brick or rock. Fill the gap with quick drying mortor. When set remove the form.
