Hi everyone. In my shed I have two windows side by side (each one operated independently from the other). I need to replace them as they are rotting. I know I can buy two singles and mull them together myself with a 2 x something between them, but can I get Home Depot or Lowe's to have them premulled at the factory so when I install it, it is like putting in one whole window (unit) at once as opposed to two seperate windows? Thanks for any advice/help.

Don't know that a big box store can really do much to help you, but a local glass shop certainly can. Or you can go to a single window -- an XOX or similar, depending on the size of your rough opening.

These 2 existing windows do have a continuous header above them, right??

Hey lefty. Yes, there is one continuous header. The 2 windows now look like normal windows in a house, except instead of 1 window in the rough opening, there are 2 side by side. I was just wondering if these windows come or can come already mulled from HD or Lowe's, or if I have to mull them myself. In other words, I want to know if HD or Lowe's makes them where I can place both windows in the opening at once as one whole unit, as opposed to one at a time. Thanks.

yes. Depending on the brand, you can usually order 2 windows common mullioned. (put together.) If not, they will provide you with the pieces you need to snap them together yourself.

Thanks Xsleeper. Is it also possible to buy 2 windows, same size and brand and mull them together with a 2 x something between them as well? Thanks.

That's possible too, but using a mull strip to joint 2 vinyl windows virtually eliminates any possibility of a leak between them, and you will come out with slightly more window in the same size hole.
