Folks;
With the cost of potting mix and garden soil going through the roof I
was wondering if anyone had a receipe for making your own?

Thats one of the reasons they are selling so many compost bins. Your waste becomes your treasure. The secret to good garden soil is compost, compost and more compost. Good luck.

Adding some vermiculite and peat moss to your existing garden soil can go a long way to getting prime results. I've done this with solid clay and got pretty nice workable results. Like the last poster said, adding some natural composted material (like peat moss if you don't have a compost site) will do wonders for making your soil more "friendly" for planting.
