i have a murry that has a bad 12.5 horse briggs motor on it but i have a 16 horse twin cylinder will it fit on it if not what would a good 16 horse be worth it dose not smoke or rattle runs good thanks

I believe it will fit if the crankshaft diameter and length are the same. They probably are as most are standard size, but check. It may take a bit of adapting to make the throttle cable, starter cable, fuel line, etc... fit.

Many of the online dealers have dimensional drawings you can check. If these aren't current models, you can call B&S customer service and they can give you the information if you have model #'s.

I wanted to replace a Tecumseh H50 with a new engine and a lot of people - dealers, online forums, etc - told me that it would not fit. B&S faxed me detailed instructions and in fact the Intek Snow 7.5 fits on the same mounting holes as the old engine - same shaft diameter and location (but longer bolts were needed for the new engine). They were great.

The 12.5 horse model # is289707 the 16 horse is 402707 type124401code9312075b I think it will fit on the murry . But im not shure about the exhaust on it I have all the throttle cables of the old mower.And wiring. Thanks for the help. I hope this motor will work
