Hi
I am installing a chimney style range hood against a 45 degree corner wall. The hood instructions recommend steel ducting only for the hood. I have seen Paul Ryan use flex duct on a recent chimney hood install. He appears to connect it to a steel elbow at the wall entrance and probably using steel in the between wall section. Can I use flex duct for the entire run (approx. 3-4 feet total) or do I need to use steel for the ducting? Or can I use steel between the walls and flex for the hood connection? I believe the fan is rated somewhere around 300 CFM. Kinda confusing I know. HELP! :wall: thanks in advance! Hund

For sure use smooth steel pipe all the way. The other will get a grease build up in it. You can use steel duct work for it also.
