Greetings all,

I am in the process of converting my new BBQ to a natural gas line that already exists outside.

The connector looks like a galvanized steal quick connect (femail). I was able to purchase a conversion kit from Home Depot that connects the BBQ itself (had to remove the hose that was to be connected to the tank and replaced it with a longer soft hose that has a threaded female (3/8" copper). Now the kit comes with a 3/8" - 3/8" male to male, so the question is does anything exist that I can use to either directly conver a threaded 3/8" female to the quick connect or do I need to build something from parts? If so, do you have any web links as I can't find a local supplier for such parts.

Thank you.

Aram

Aram,

Most outdoor connectors for gas are either brass or plated steel.
What you need to do is get the male fitting that matchers the connector you have.
There are a few different styles of quick connect so if there are any numbers on the female portion just jot them down to see if a supplier can make any sense of what you have.
If you look in the phone book under bbq parts and supplies you might find a dealer who has what you need.
If no one can match the style you have you may have to replace the fitting on the house.
