I have a Craftsman 22hp with a 48" cutting deck. All was working well until one blade stopped because of a piece of wood that got caught in it. Now the deck will engage but at a very slow speed - not nearly fast enough to cut. There also is no loud sound that usually occurs when the deck is engaged. The belts seem tight enough though I am no expert. I would appreciate whatever words of wisdom you can offer.
Thanks!

Although you say the belt "seems" tight, i'd say you burnt it up when the wood got jammed. Yes, the belt may appear tight but the inside (V) of the belt is probably toast whereas it doesn't grab well and just slips. In this case, replacement of such will be in order.
