Does anybody know if the threads on the shaft where the flywheel goes are left or rignt handed. Thanks Bill

Both top end as well as PTO end will be standard right-hand thread.

Thanks for infor, I have the nut off, I took some sewing thread and went around the shaft to see which way it went, but I still hadn't the fly wheel off.

You'll need a puller to get the flywheel off. You can use a steering wheel puller.

Oh man, you must have an opposed twin engine. You can get the starter off those without flywheel removal just using a 1/2" open end wrench.

I didn't think the bolt had room to come out under the flywheel, but if you say it will I will try it next time. Thanks for letting me know. Bill

Yep, it will come out with the starter. When you put the starter back on, you put the bolt in the starter hole first, then slip the starter mount under the flywheel bolt and all.
