I have this empty oval border bed. I need some plants to put in this empty bed. Do you think a Sago palm with begonias around is a great idea!! I live in a corner lot, so this border bed is facing in front of the street. It gets full sun about 7 hours. Zone 8b. Go to my website and see the border bed. http://community.webshots.com/user/deb789

Various mixes of plants are best decided by the preferences of the owner. In your zone, this combination will provide lasting decoration.

I might suggest staying away from begonias if the area is full-sun. The begonia's I've always grown don't like full sun. If the area gets couple of hours of sun maximum, that's best for begonias. Anything more and they fry -and that's based on upstate NY weather (i.e., rainy and cold most of the time).
