My home is three years old and the doors will not stay open. They are all upstairs and when you push them all back against the wall, walk away and you hear them shut on there own. Is my house settling that much that quick.
How can I correct this? I took the hinges apart to look them over and placed them back in there right spots and cleaned the rod etc and they still go shut and will not stay where you put them.
I do not want door stops at every door upstairs, is there a way to get them to stay were you put them? Thank you!

Its likely that your doors are doing that because they were installed out of plumb. That would likely be impossible to correct without removing the trim and reinstalling the door.
A quick fix that you might try: Remove the hinge pins and gently squeeze each hinge bearing with a pliers or visegrips. (use a cloth in the mouth of the pliers to avoid making any nicks). This will tighten the hinge around the hinge pin and should make the door a little harder to operate- thus it might not swing closed on its own anymore.
Perhaps try it on just one hinge (the top one) at first and see if it helps.

I bend the hinge pin by laying it on a hard surface (concrete floor, anvil, etc.) and hit it in the middle with a hammer. This just causes a slight bend in the pin which will create more friction in the hinge keeping the door from opening/closing when you want it to remain in position. This doesn't affect the positioning of the door in the opening.

Thanks to you both. Guess my new home was built out of plumb all over. The upstairs doors all do this and the downstairs dont. But hey, If the doors are the worse problem in my newly built home of a couple years I will be happy.
Next the sump pump will not work.... And no I havent looked into a back up yet, but read today I had better. The amount I paid to have this built I shouldnt be getting doors like this, right ? :wall:
Ohh the garage door openers were my enemy before this problem. They never worked right from the start and after 5 fobs laters, they work !
