I'm trying to remove the plunger from the drain in my tub so I can unclog it. I can remove the trip arm up to the point that the plunger sticks out of the top of the drain, but I can't seem to get the actual plunger out of the drain. I've tried rotating it, wiggling it around, etc.
Is there some trick to getting it out? What am I missing? :(

Spray penetrating oil in the opening of the overflow to lubricate the opening; there might be a huge ball of hair hanging on the end of it causing the plunger from coming out.
