I have an electric water heater ( two elements ) and I am concerned that I may have a bad element. In the past I have had to replace the lower element when a calcium type material would build up and cause the element to burn out. Is there an easy way to test the bottom element to see if it is good, besides pulling it out of the tank? Thanks.

Jay

Need a cheap meter for it turn power off take wires off element and just Ohm it out. This will tell you if its good or not. Did you dig it out then as best as you can. You might like every 2 months or so put a hose on it turn the power off and open the drain valve with cold water on. This can help you out some if the water is that bad.
