Try this post: (http://forum.doityourself.com/showthread.php?t=211517) I think that you may have either miswired the keypad on the original system, or accidentally kicked it into program mode.

The keypad is wired correctly and is it is in prog mode how do I get out of it.

Also on the unit I purchased is there any way to reset it to factory defualt? Because I was not given the mastercode.

Normally, without any activity, these systems will exit program mode on their own, after awhile, otherwise pressing * should kick it back to run mode. If it's not doing so with either activity, then there is likely something honestly wrong with either keypan or panel.

There is a back door entry into program mode, you press * + # at the same time wihin a minute of power-up.

You will _need_ the installer manual (for a Moose Z-900). The keystrokes for something as simple as changeing a code not very intuitive, and you will need the reference.

Adt moved the programming addresses around from the z900 defaults to prevent exactly what you are trying to do. If you have a z900 while in programming enter 250# that will default master code If its the adt version enter 177# that will default mastercode Also on the first versions of the entrepreneur when entering the programming command it did not give full access to programming until it contacted a receiver on later versions if you wait awhile it will enter into programming. Also on the adt version after exiting install programming normal user funtions are not avalible until 99* is entered which will again start the dialer trying to contact adt

Ah! useful to know. The few of these I've come across in this area have been actual Moose panels with ADT stickers on the keypad and panel casing, so the issue has never come up (they did the same thing with the Caretaker Plus, panels as well).
