Hope that someone can help as I have been reading and trying many things on this forum. I have a PC 1550 and had to remove the zone 6 due to construction in my house - have a single motion detector on the zone. I powered down the AC and the battery then removed the wiring for the zone and put an eol on the panel for zone 6. When I rebooted I got the '10 clicks'. I then entered the installers password and a new system time then [91] and then powered down and up again - no clicks. Changed the system time again but the trouble light was still on with Zone 6 after pressing *2. Thinking it was the default fire zone I reprogrammed the zone to 02 (verified by going through after and it was now 02 from 08). It won't let me arm the system and the zone 6 light is still on.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What you are describing is a little jumble sounding:

Let's see if I follow your steps.

You powered down, replaced the zone wiring for a zone with a 1k ohm resistor.

You powered back up and heard the "installer lockout" clicks.

Heres where you may have made your mistake:

You entered the installer code then the keystrokes for setting the time.

That should have been the *6+_master_ code + 1 + plus the time set sequence.

Depending on the time of day you initially tried to set, you could have altered any of the first 23 sections of the program, and still not have the time set.

MrRonFL,

Thanks for the quick reply - sorry if it sounds jumbled. Would my best bet be to do a hardware reset and reprogram or is there a way to salvage what I have?

If you know the installer code, you can simply go into program mode and review the data in each section and correct as needed. It's tedious, but about as much work as reprogramming from scratch.

MrRonFL,

Thanks for the advice. Steps I have done to date.
1. Went to the box and made sure the resistor was firmly in Zone 6 all the way.
2. I did a software reset *8 Installers Code [30]. It came up with a condition 5.
3. Reprogrammed the zones so zone 6 is not a fire zone (02 from 08).
4. Reset the master code with *8 Installer code [21] xxxx. Changed the system time *6 master code [1] hhmm.
5. Set the door chime so I know the master code is working.
6. Verified that the system is set for EOL *8 Installer code [12] the number 5 is off.

The zone 6 light is still on. Any ideas??

In section 12 of programming is option 5 on or off? If it's on, the panel is set for normally closed zones without the EOL. In which case, to dummy the zone, you use a simple wire jumper (In this configuration, the resistor is effectively an open ).
