I am currently in the process of finishing my basement. In a few areas, due to headroom issues, I plan to paint the duct work and ceiling.
My question is: what process do I follow to paint the metal ductwork? Do I need a special primer? Also, I saw a spray product at the local HD that sprays a stone type decorative finish. I thought this may look neat on the duct work. Would this be a good idea?
Thanks in advance for the help!

Click this thread, (http://forum.doityourself.com/showthread.php?t=186894&highlight=galvanized) and then use a primer thats tinted gray or close to whatever the stone color is. Then try your stone decorative finish.
