Can anyone tell me whether I need to use special radiator paint or can I use paints that are labelled 'for wood and metal? Is there an undercoat/primer I can buy to enable use of wall paint? The problem is, I cannot find the colours I need in the radiator ranges.

What condition is the radiator in, IE is it already painted, or bare cast metal, etc.

If it's already painted, can't you use any paint? We repainted over an old (very old) radiator with semi-gloss....it's working out fine. Another friend also did that (for many years) with no issues.
