Over the weekend, the upstairs keypad (1 of 3) took to "screaming" non-stop. All of the LEDs were lit up solid, not flashing, and the tone was constant, not beeping. The system was not armed (hasn't been for a while) and the keypad would not respond to any key entries. The other panels showed the system as normal. I finally had to pull the fuse for the keypads (inside the system board) to get it to stop, then I managed to break the fuse (don't ask). Any ideas about a possible cause and/or solution? Any input will be appreciated. Thanks!

If the keypad piezo was stuck on, and the other keypads were normal. I would check the wireing connections, but otherwise, I suspect than entropy took it's toll. If you disconnect that particular keypad from the system and everything else works normally, then the unit's probably done.
Did the system not shut down when you turned off the power switch at the bottom left edge of the panel?

So, there's a power switch? I'll try that, especially when I put the new fuse in. I didn't see anything that looked like a switch and don't have any destructions for the main panel. I'll see what happens when I disconnect the offending panel. Thanks again!

It's a little flat black or dark brown slide switch. If your light is at all bad, it's easy to miss. Poke around online. This was a very common system. Nearly all of the manual archives have the manuals in their database.
