I recently bought a used kitchen table that is all wood, except for the top. While oiling the wood with some Johnson's liquid, I put some on the faded laminate top just for fun. It looked great (while the oil was on.) It was a dark rich simulated wood finish with a nice shine. Of course when wiped with a damp cloth, the oil came off and I'm back to square one. Is there a product that has a similar, yet more permanent, effect on this type of top?

i think there's a special cleaner just for formica/laminate kitchen counters. that would probably work. but like you said, if you go to clean it with something else, it'll take off that finish. so....maybe if you ONLY clean it with the special cleaner, it'll stay looking nice.
