I need to spray paint a brushed aluminum patio table and chairs and don't think that cans of spray paint is the best way to go. Does anyone know of a paint I can use with a sprayer that would work on brushed aluminum?

Thanks!

Why do you think it is not the way to go? Spray paint in cans is very good paint.

"Does anyone know of a paint I can use with a sprayer"

Do you have a sprayer? If so What kind?

Although you can get good [or cheap] paint in a spray can they don't go very far. Most alum will paint well with oil or latex. If you have a little airless, you should be able to use either. If it is a conventional cup gun you will probably only be able to use oil.

JoneQ - Thanks for the reply. It's a big job for spray cans. I did a smaller job with cans a few weeks ago and I'm just now starting to get feeling back in my fingertip!!! No, I don't have a sprayer. I was figuring on renting one, but wanted to check to see if that's the best way to go.

I can't imagine anyone actually sprays a table, 4 chairs and a recliner with spray cans.

MarkSr - Thanks for the tip. Not sure what a "little airless" is, but I'll check it out.

Krylon or duplicolor paint is way better than latex or oil paint imo, especially for outdoors. Maybe marksr meant one of those wagner hand held sprayers. They are exellent and come in real handy for lots of things. If you use one you forever hate to use a brush. I would get the best one they have. It may be on sale at sears tomorrow. Make sure you use the cleaner that comes with the sprayer after each use. It is important. Use a good primer like zinsser cover stain first, after thoroughly cleaning it of course. There is also a decent hvlp unit by cambell hausfeld in the depot that would be good for the job.

"aluminum patio table and chairs" is different then "a table, 4 chairs and a recliner" if you catch my drift.

LOL, yeah, I wasn't about to use cans again. Thanks for the help!
