has anyone had any experience with the Martha Stewart line of Sherwan Williams paints? We would like to go for good quality and are considering this paint versus Benj Moore versus the Behr Home Depot brand. Any insights would be very helpful thanks!

My 2¢:

Go with Ben Moore, they have been around for almost 100 years, and their paint is top-line.

Martha Stewart for the second choice, as she just picks the colors, and I assume Sherwin makes the paint. But beware, they pay the celebrity so much to use their name, sometimes the product suffers quality (IE Ralph Lauren).

Behr, no thank you. Not a chance. :thumbdn:

Go with the Benny Moore
It's what I use whenever possible

I haven't used Martha's but, for the reasons PWG outlined I would hesitate before I did
Name licensing costs a bundle, I would assume the product is compromised
That's not an opinion based on using it though

I won't touch the Behr either
...ever again
I have used that
I cannot recommend it

I used the Martha Stewart paint before, really Martha just makes the colors. The paint is SW Classic 99 usually or Superpaint, its not bad. The price is resonable for the contractor I have no idea on retail though.

Absolutely go with the Benjamin Moore. The quality and finish of their paint is second to none. The Behr paint seems too runny.

well,thats slightly correct
Martha uses her name on a line of colors
but as far as the paint is concerned SW will mix her shades in any version of SW paint
so,in truth you are getting SW paints tinited to her spec

I prefer Cashmere for all my int painting

wow. benny moore lovers
hands down sherwin-williams is the best paint all around
they are the largest U.S paint company and 5 times larger than moore
if you want the BEST interior paint-buy DURATION HOME
it is a scrubbable flat or satin finish-will not stain or burnish
anyone who has not used DURATION or sherwin williams other top lines
should go try it and then re-post.
i gaurantee it is the best paint out there.for the painter And the end user
go to your closest sherwin store ans ask them to let you try it in the store :coffee:

I used Sherwin Williams paint for my first painting project and it turned out great. I used Pro Block primer, Kitchen and Bath paint for the bathroom and Super Paint for 3 other rooms. I used 20 gallons total. I won't use any other brand.

I used Behr for several projects in my first home because I didn't know any better, and it was all I could afford.

I have found that you spend the same $ wise no matter what you buy!

If it's $9 a gallon (like Behr), you will use three times as much paint as a $25 a gallon brand!

Personally, I like Fuller O'Brien. The colors are nice, and it goes on smoothly and evenly.

But I hired twos crew to paint my last job, and they both preferred MAB.

Behr is like Elmer's paste!

I've used Benjamin Moore and Restoration Hardware brand. I love the Benjamin Moore - it goes on exceptionally well.

However, Behr did win (in 2004 I think) for one of the best paints (price vs. quality) with Benjamin Moore coming in 2nd....

jmm706, I paint tons of new construction with Duron, it's ok, touches up great. I prefer SW though. Ben Moore is good and great for interiors but is overpriced, I think SW is the best value.

Duration will smoke BenMoore
as a matter a fact we painted a house last week, the current painter was fired for some reason,he used BenMoore,I matched the color and went to Duration, the Duration looked alot better, alot less brush marks and better leveling
