I just put a 2 wire glass break on zone 8 of my Vista 20P and it come up with a fault. I'm using EOLR on all other contections to the panel. But didn't put one on this one. Please let me know if it needs one to.

I'm getting a fault on zone 08 where I wired the glass break. What should the zone programing look like. I have it setup as 03 (perimeter) but do I need something special for a glass break sensor to work. The vista 20 book just say's to connect it to zone 08 ? Could the sensor be bad or does it need to be started or reset via a code?

Do you have 12v power connected to the sensor?
Setting is as a perimeter zone is pretty standard, so that should work. The only other thing I can think of, is that some models of acoustic glass break have a form "c" contact set (NO or NC) instead of just NC.

It's a Sentrol 5150 Series Shock Sensor and suppose to be Self-generating on alarm for its power. I contacted 123securityproducts via email and asked for setting on my vista20 but they haven't replied yet and don't know if they will. Do you know where I can get a cheap glass break that will just hook up and work with stander setting? :wall:

Well it works now, What I did was move it to another zone that wasn't being use d and it works fine. Don't know whats up with zone 08. But have another question. I have a tamper switch on my vista20 and its connected to a blue wire coming off the RJ-31X jack that goes to the alarm panel the blue wire isn't connected to the panel just the tamper switch. The other wire on the switch has a EOL on it and goes to the panel. I don't get a fault when the box is open so does this mean the tamper is wired wronge or the zone is disable. What zone would the tamper be on? I can't fault it to see.

Sorry about that, the detail of it being a "window bug" scooted right by me. If you had the zone configured as a perimeter zone, and it closed properly with just the resistor, it should have worked. There's not much to a shock sensor, basically they are closed til you whack the glass. Likely it's some small programming glitch that you missed on the first pass, no biggie.
For that tamper/RJ-31x combo, it sounds like they wired the case tamper switch in series with the tamper leads on the RJ-31x (which would be the blue and orange wires on most models). So the other leg that you are looking for is likely an orange wire. The zone may be programmed for trouble when disarmed/ alarm when armed, or even with one of the configurable zone types so that it's only active when the system is armed.
There's no special zone for anything on one of these systems (other than 2 wire smoke detectors). The zones do what you tell them to do. Typically, the case/phone tamper is wired to the highest unused zone.
