Trying to unclog the bathtub, preferring not to use Liq. Plummer et al. I tried vinegor and baking soda but didn't work.
Any other suggestions?
Thanks.

Scalding water melts the fats from soap (the binding agent in bathtub clogs); cool water congeals it. So first of all, bail out the cool water and put hot water in the tub. I don't use boiling because I'm afraid of that opening a bad pipe joint somewhere down the line.
A plunger does work, but only when pressure can't just short-circuit through the overflow. Ask a buddy to cover it with a plastic tub or whatever when you plunge. Same deal for double sinks, BTW.
