I have a small room with a slanted ceiling to paint. I need to know how to make the room look more spacious. Do I paint the whole room, including the ceiling, the same color or not? I would appreciate any advice.

I would consider painting walls and ceiling a light color. Dark colors and contrasting colors tend to make a room look smaller which is great in large spaces. If you want the walls color and ceiling white, paint only the vertical walls with color and make the slanted portion white with the rest of the ceiling. The less attention you bring to the smallness of the space the larger it will appear. :)

spacious is one thing - cold & uninviting is another. as long as all the colors you use are light, you'll be fine. but for the ultimate in spaciousness, eliminate the line of contrast between the ceiling and the walls by painting the ceiling the same color as the walls, or at least a few shades lighter. if you don't like colored ceilings, you can't go wrong with flat ceiling white. also try to come close with the tone of your walls and flooring. when it comes to making a room look as big as possible (which really shouldn't be your main goal), contrast is the enemy. try to keep things fairly monotone.
or - you could play up that one high wall by painting it an accent color and all the other walls & ceiling the same but different color. that will draw the eye up & create a sense of space.
