Toilets, Sinks, Showers, Tubs and Disposals - How to disassemble Delta single handle Monitor faucet...

Sorry if this is covered in the archives - I couldn't find it if it was.

I've got a Delta single handle Monitor pressure balanced shower faucet that has a very slight leak when shut off. This is the first of this kind of Delta I've owned, and I'm having trouble getting it apart to replace the seats and springs.

Per the instructions, I can remove the handle, the trim sleeve, and the "bonnet" nut, but the instructions then say to "place handle on stem and rotate CCW approximately 1/4 turn after the stop has been contacted. Lift cartridge out of body". I've tried this, along with many other angles, and I can't get it to come out. I don't want to pry on the plastic cartridge or brass body, but I can't seem to figure out what I'm doing wrong.

Any ideas? Is there a "keying" mechanism that requires it be turned a certain way? Any help would be appreciated.

Moens have a horseshoe-like clip that needs to be lifted out... I don't remember Deltas... sorry.

Sometimes the cartridge is really fused in there and WD-40 plus rapping loosens it. Heat or cold may help, as in jam jars, and you can apply this by running water full hot or full cold.

Okay, got it apart.

Basically, you have to screw the handle back on, and use a lot force. The o-rings just have a lot of "stiction" (sticking friction), and probably debris buildup. The catridge comes straight out.
