Hi there
My husband and i are about to install new sink before we install our granite tiles around the sink. We were reading somewhere about a under the counter AIR GAP so you don't have to have that ugly thing on your counter next toyour faucet. I can't seem to find anything else on them. Can you please tell me what they are where to get them if you think they are a bad idea and why. Our faucet us being installed into the counter top and so is our soap dispencer and the aig gap would have to be there also and then i was wandering if it is on the countertop it would spit water all over the top of the counter instead of in the sink. Please give us as much information on this as possible.
THANKS, Susanne

I don't know of any undersink Air Gaps, they wouldn't offer protection anyway since they are not above the critical level which is the flood level rim of the sink itself.
The air gap is to your benefit; it is a safety device that keeps those dishes/utensils sanitized until you remove them from the dishwasher after cleaning.
