Lighting, Light Fixtures, Ceiling and Exhaust Fans - basement pull string lighting

I am moving a pull string light in my basement. I checked at Home depot, and all the pull string light fixtures that they sell have 2 screws: 1 for the black wire and 1 for the white. But there is no screw for the ground wire. This light will be an end of the run on the circuit. So what do I do with the ground wire that is in the romex? What am I missing here? The plastic electrical box has no grounding screw either. thanks, Doug

Grounded fixtures are safer than ungrounded fixtures, but "is it safe" has no precise answer because "safe" has no precise definition. If you have no grounding connection, then you don't have much choice. But I'd rather see a ground. Perhaps you can spend a couple bucks more and find a fixture that has a grounding connection.

Where would I find a grounded pull string fixture? I checked everyone at Home Depot, and none of them are grounded, except the combo outlet/light fixture, and I don't want to have another outlet on this circuit.

Buy the light/outlet combo. The outlet won't hurt you a bit.

It would if we sell the house and some dimwit uses it to plug something into it.

It doesn't make any sense to me that this would be a problem. Nothing you can do will protect against a dimwit. And it's not clear that plugging something in would be a problem anyway. There's a big difference between a radio and a chest freezer, and what might be good for one would not be good for the other. So I don't really see the downside to using the combo.
