I very rarely iron clothes so I've never bothered to buy an ironing board (yeah, I know, I'm cheap). I was ironing something on my dining table and put a towel down to protect it. To my horror, when I was finished and removed the towel half of the table was covered with a gray haze from the steam in the iron. I found DoItYourself.com, and read that you could remove that damage with very fine steel wool (004). I happened to have some, but it was even finer...0000. In desperation, I tried that and although it was recommended to use paste wax also I just used the steel wool. IT WORKED!! Saved my butt...hubby wouldn't have been very happy with the marred finish. THANK YOU DoItYourself.com!!!
