Have any of you tried any of these new one time wood protectors for decks? I've seen articles and propaganda for some of them, and they seem pretty good. One that looks very interesting is called "ONE TIMEŽ WOOD PROTECTOR". They guarantee it for 7 years. I have a major problem with mold and mildew turning my cedar deck black after only a few months, and I'm hoping that something like this might help. One thing that does concern me is if I do not like it, or it doesn't hold up as they say, would I be able to apply another finish over this finish? Any information, or first hand experience would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

There is a product on the market, the name escapes me, but it is Cedar Renew. Any big Home Improvement center will have it. Here is how it works.
First you clean your deck with vinager. White Apple Cidar Vinegar. After drying, you apply this cedar renew. It works with the chemicals in cedar wood, and takes it back to how it looked originally. It is better then any sealer. Easy to apply and will last as long as you want it to. In a few years if you want to take your deck back to those good old days, clean and re apply again. Good Luck
