Greenhouses, Sheds and Sun Rooms - Storage Shed Ramp

Hi!
I need a ramp for my storage shed, but have no idea where to begin.
The shed is approx. 1 1/2 ft. off the ground and the door opens out.
The ramp needs to be study enough to support the weight of a tractor
mower.

I've built up ramps out of dirt and gravel. It is pretty permanent and takes up a fair bit of space but is very sturdy and cheap if you have a source of dirt on your property. Just leave it an inch or so lower than your door so it can still open. Your tractor should have no trouble climbing over an inch or two lip.

Many people use planks of lumber. It can work, but make sure you support it very well. If you can see the wood flex/bend as you drive up on it. Put more supports (bricks, blocks of wood...) under it. We have a man in our town who spent months in the hospital after one of the 2 x 10's he was using as a ramp broke and the tractor rolled over sideways on him.

I had been thinking about constructing the ramp of wood,
but now I'm thinking the heavy gauge metal ramp, may be
the safest way to go.
The thought of the weight of the tractor, collapsing a wood
ramp scares me. Out here.....I'd be found by buzzards first.

I like the idea of ramping with soil and gravel, but the closer
that dirt is to the wood floor of the shed, the more likely it
is to become dinner for termites or another fire ant mound.
I should have mentioned southern location. You know....
termites, fire ants, snakes, C-120 palmetto bugs, B-52 mosquitoes
and the buzzards.

A couple of 2" steel I-beams and a 3/4" or 1-1/8" plywood deck? Just figure out a solid attachment to the shed for it.
