Hi all! I have a question for you; I just finished building a 19 x 18 cedar deck unstained or sealed at this point. My problem is my dogs are scratching the hell out of it with there nails. My question; is there a stain or a sealer that will prevent or minimize these scratches from them? Can one put a couple coats of poly on a deck? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

The problem with putting "a couple coats of poly" on it now -- that thing will be like an ice skating rink next fall when it rains!!

I didnt think that option was going to be a realistic one.. So any other ideas of how to prevent such a thing short of getting rid of the dogs :)
