they have at home depot and lowes these 8 X 8 "dek blocks" they are concrete and they hold the 4x4 posts. The building department said that those are ok. What I want to know is... Do they hold the posts tight? Because when I put up the posts and make the beams. I would think that I'd have to use cross braces between the beams to hold them up.
