I hope this is the apropriate forum for this question. Were buying an old house from my father that I grew up in. When I was younger, me and the family begged for him to do maintenance reairs and well, he's a stubborn fellow and now the house needs alot of TLC! Anyways, the basement walls have naturally cracked over the years and now when it rains heavily, the water comes in leaving puddles in the basement. The concrets has become brittle. I have also learned through research that the leaks need to be repaired from the outside(alot of work). My question is, what options do I have to repair this? We are buying the house for much lower than what it's worth so we have some $30k+ to work with but don't want to spend all of that on the basement as alot of other repairs need to be done. So, if anyone can shed some light on the options we have, they would ease alot of worry on me :)

hi
Well to start it might cost you 30 k to repair the foundation and drainage
is it worth it???
Does the house meet your requirement?
Is the proprety worth the money??
These are questions only you can answer.

Yes, to me it's worth it. The rest of the house is sound. A new roof last summer. These leaks just started a year or two ago. Most of the cracks have been there for 20 years, they just didn't leak.

hi
It's a hard job for a DYI
I would call in a house inspector and i mean a real one and seek is recommendation in how to fix it.
Maybe he can give you a solution how to fix it for less.
good luck

I have used the products from this compny and found them to be extremely effective. I am assuming that the foundation is still holding up the house and does not need to be structurally repaired. My basement problems are over thank you very much xypex[ used to be available in Lowes]. Giev them a call. It is their business to fix your problem.
