I would like to purchase a pressure washer for the following chores:
1. Removing vegetation and oil stains from my sidewalk and driveway
2. Removing soil and plant stains from my painted cement retaining wall
3. Removing bug stains on my vinyl siding
4. Cleaning my wood deck
What brand of equipment do you recommend?
What pressures would I need for these jobs?
Should I purchase gas or electric?

I have used/owned Karcher and Craftsman and could recomend either
I'd think you would want a minimum of about 1750
A little less might be OK for most of what you want
2000 sounds about right
That should be plenty for you
You won't need it all the time but it'll be there if you need it
Gas, don't bother with the electric

I have the HUSKY 1750 PSI Electric Pressure Washer. It's my 3rd one. I had a Karcher and it worked great, but I broke the wand and at the time, Lowe's didn't have anymore :(
My first Husky's wand broke too, so I returned it for a new one. I tend to take better care of my new one :)
I used to work at lowe's and I've tried every model out that they sold, for general around the house work, an electric is fine. I clean my concrete driveway, vinyle siding and wash the vehicles and ATV's with it. I would say I probably use mine once a week and it's great! Electric works good for me because I have an outlet by my driveway. If I DIDN'T hvae that, I may have gone with gas, but elec is just too convenient for me.
The rotating head/wand is great! It makes cleaning the driveway EASY

I ended up doing the overkill thing (call it macho) and purchased a 13HP Honda Engine, 3600PSI washer from Sam's (only $100 more than the 2000 PSI one at Lowes - so I couldn't resist).
I did about 1/3rd of my driveway and ran out of gas. It works great, but my goodness is it time consuming.

If it were too easy nobody would pay me to do it ;) :)
