I got an old generator from a friend. It was marketed by Sears and has a Tecumseh motor on it. Beyond that, I don't know much about it. It was setting outside for a couple years and the last owner says it started. The data plate was faded to the point I could only read 1500 something and 3600 something. It is very small and has spring style feet and a carry handle. I've disassembled it as far as I can but can't get the rotor off the shaft. Any suggestions on finding out what model it is , or how to get the rotor off?

Thanks for your help
Tim

I would offer the suggestion that you would do well to find out exactly what is wrong with it before you take it apart.
You might find that it is quite common for smaller generators to fail because their owners ran them above their rated capacity.

The 5 hp gas engine from the new looking Onan generator that was given to me is what runs my roto tiller.
The armature was worth more than a whole new unit.
