Help please! You will soon tell that I am not a 'sparky' and these kinda things happen when you mess with things you shouldn't be.

Basically I have two three-way switches and a light fixture that no longer works. The setup is as follows. The 2 wire from the light fixture and the 2 wire power source go to switch A. From switch A there is also a 3 wire which goes to switch B. Switch A and B used to turn the light on or off alternatively.

Can anyone tell me how this should be wired? All examples I've seen are where the power source goes to the light fixture and then to switch A and B or directly to switch A then to B and then to the fixture. Thanks.

Call the power cable "P".
Call the cable to the light "L".
Call the cable to the other switch "S".

At the switch box with all three cables: Connect Pb to the common screw on the switch (the black colored screw). Connect Pw to Lw. Connect Sb to Lb. Connect Sw and Sr to the two traveler screws. At the other switch box: Connect Sb to the common screw. Connect Sr and Sw to the two traveler screws. At the light, match colors. And of course connect all grounds in each box.
