The original part of the house has the plaster from when the house was built in the 50s, and it is in great shape. In the 80s an addition was put on, and they hung the drywall backwards. :wall: :wall: can you believe that. What options exist, I would rather not have to refinish the entire addition. Will a skim coat of plaster or a finish like a venetian plaster hold to the wall? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

If you are sure it is drywall I think it may be best to consult with u.s. gypsum or whoever manufactured the drywall. You may get some help here but a little more info would help like what is on the walls now etc. In order to help someone would probably have had to do this already and that is not too likely. Imo call the maker of the drywall If it is painted call U.S. Gypsum and tell them it is their product.
