noisey pully on a 96 gmc

i have a 96 gmc pick up with a 5.7 liter engine. it has a moanig niose that sounds like the power steering pump going bad but it comes and goes. i removed the serpientie belt but the only thing i could find was a little end play in the power steering pump. i also notice my a/c pully sounded like the bearings were dry. when i dont hear the moining i can hear the roaring of the a/c. if i change the a/c pully will this stop the roaring and how do i remove the clutch and the pully? any help would be apreciated.

A little play in the P/S pulley is not abnormal. Do you hear the moaning/groaning when you have the A/C off or on? You should be able to hear where the noise is coming from if you start the engine and listen close. Unless you have hearing problems like me. :)
You will need some special tools and some service information to replace the compressor pulley.
