I am painting my hall where an ADT keypad and sensor are located. I was able to take the cover off the sensor to paint around it, but am having difficulty getting the keypad cover off. Is there a trick?

It depends on the keypad, but the typical ADT/ademco keypad has a couple of slots on the top or bottom edge where you slip in a small flat screwdriver to release the face of the keypad from the back.
Be gentle, if it's more than a few years old, the plastic tends to get brittle.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! The company wanted to charge me $85 to remove the cover from the wall. They were insistent that there was no way I could do this without damaging the unit. Thanks to your help they were wrong! Tadaa! :D
