Hi, we moved in and had ADT install an alarm system with 3 wireless door/window detector, one motion sensor and some other non burglary related stuff. When I'm traveling my wife doesn't feel comfortable and wants to get a door/window detector to each window in the house....there are 18 of them !!! I spent over an hour online on trying to find "wireless door/window detector" that I could link to my adt system....and was unsucessful.
Could anyone help ?

You have three choices:
Buy the wireless transmitters compatible with your existing receiver.
Add an aftermarket receiver connected to one of the hardwired zone inputs, and use transmitters for that brand.
Install wiring for hardwired contacts.
Wireless hardware is propriatory, there generally aren't aftermarket compatibles.

Hello,
I am in a similar situation. I have a DSC 632 system installed in our house, monitored by ADT and would like to add window sensors. I have considered adding the wireless module, but I am very inexperienced with alarm systems. So I am looking to add aftermarket accessories to cover the windows. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
Would it be better to install the DSC module or an aftermarket product. Which would be easier for me to do?

It depends on how many devices you are trying to add. If it's more than a couple, I'd say go with the OEM hardware. For just a couple or so, the aftermarket gear might be more cost effective.

Thank you for the quick response. I will have to go with the wireless module for the dsc 632, i am looking to include 10 more windows.
