Greeting's,
I am replacing on old chandalier style light with a new one. There are two light switches in the room. One is a new one while the other is the original switch that was installed when the house was built over 30 years ago. The way the original fixture was wired you could turn on the light with either switch...but the new one would only work IF the old one was on...if THAT makes any sense. There are two wires running into the ceiling box...one with a bare ground, a black hot wire, and a white neutral one. The other wire just has a black and white wire. It appears to be connected to the older light switch. I say that because when running a continuity check on that wire (the black and white wire) it read full continuity...when the old switch was turned on. How do I connect the light so that both switches are useable? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks,
Mllkat

You can't with the cable you have now. There are several ways to do it.
You could install a three wire cable from each switch to the light fixture.
You could install a three wire cable from one switch to the other switch. If you want to procide tell me which way you installed the cable and I will give you hookup instructions. Also tell me the current connections at both switches and the fixture.
