I have an older furnace (ie. about 16 years) and a few years ago I installed a Heat Recovery Ventilator which runs continuously pretty well about 6-7 months of the year. When the HRV runs the furnace fan must run. The furnace fan is set to run on Lo speed and is a 3/4 hp motor.

I am contemplating installing a newer high efficiency furnace the Lennox G61MPV 60C-090 that has a variable speed motor that I assume can be set on low speed for when not in heating mode.

Can anyone tell me how to calculate the savings that I might expect?

I am not sure $$ wise how much you will save, but you will see it.

I have a Trane Variable speed XV90, and Our power bill has not gone up now that I run the fan 24/7 where the old one, we didn't run the fan since t was loud.

Also vairble speed will run the fan low when there is no call of heat or cooling.
