have 4 gallons of ceiling paint, unopened, 5 years old. Would this still be good, a flat latex.

Only way to know for sure is to open it up. I f you can get a paint store to shake it first that would be great. If not prepare to do a lot of stirring . If the paint mixes up well and is not real thick [means it may have froze] it should be OK. I have used old paint before and as long as it mixes up right I have never had a problem.
