I am installing some built-in cabinets and they will butt right up to an existing air duct. It really isn't practical to move this particular duct, so I'm going to just seal it off. Will still need another source of air in the room and am wondering if the following solution will work.

On the other side of an opposite wall is a duct that provides air to a neighboring room. Would it be possible to tap into that duct from this side of the wall and provide a "T" to provide air into both rooms simutaneously? Are there potential issues, considerations, or negative implications I ought to beware of? And finally, if this isn't the worst idea you ever heard, where might I find such a fitting?

Sure will appreciate any advice or input. Thanks.

Dont take and cut into another run for this room .It dont work. Cant you move the register there that you have. like out into the room more a smaller register? Cut into the ceiling back more and put the register there. Lots of ways. But dont cut in the other run.
